Lochinver

Situated on the North-West coast of Scotland, Lochinver has to be one of the most beautifully secluded loations in the British Isles. Once a bustling fishing port supplying much of the UK with it's fresh fish, Lochinver has now become a popular location for family holidays, walkers, fishermen, and other outdoor enthusiasts.

There is much to do and see in Lochinver. If you like the outdoor lifestyle then there are walks for all, from a gentle stroll to a full on trek. For those who like to take things a little slower there are coffee shops and bars for food and drink. If you get the opportunity it is worth your while to take a look at the Highland Stoneware pottery, which offers a great selection of unique hand painted stoneware.

After a day walking, fishing or lazing on the sandy beach at Achmelvich you may wish to sample the excellent cuisine at some of the restaurants. Try the Inver Lodge hotel, the Lochinver Riverside Bistro for superb home made pies and seafood or the award winning Albannach. Alternatively you could try a bar meal at the Culag hotel or the Caberfeidh.
